Queen Victoria is credited for popularising the Easter Egg hunt? As a child, Queen Victoria (1819 – 1901) enjoyed annual egg hunts at Kensington Palace, provided by her Mother, the Duchess of Kent.

Queen Victoria carried on the tradition with her own children, with Prince Albert given the responsibility of hiding the eggs for their children!
