When we first arrived in Dubai in late August it was hot, hot ,hot! Daily highs of 44 degrees with unreal levels of humidity is the summer time norm. To be fair though, Dubai has been designed to make life in these oven like temperatures as manageable as possible, with everything air conditioned and lots of indoor activities to enjoy.
We were missing the beach though! It was far to hot to visit the beaches during the day, with the sand impossible to walk on and the water as warm as a bath it wasn’t the refreshing experience that it is in other parts of the world.
Of course, Dubai has a solution for those who love the beach and the ocean and miss it during the summer months.
Night beaches. Fully lit, fully protected by life guards and just the most amazing vibe!

Our visit to Umm Suqeim Night Beach Dubai
We headed over to Umm Suqeim Night Beach around 6pm on a very warm August evening. Umm Suqeim is located in western Dubai, along the Jumeirah Beach coastline. Located in the Umm Suqeim neighbourhood, the beach offers visitors a unique and serene experience, enjoying the clear, sparkling waters under the moonlight.
From the beach you can enjoy wonderful views of the Burj Al Arab, the Burj Kalifa and the magnificent city skyline. The calm, cool and serene atmosphere makes it the perfect retreat for those seeking a refreshing experience.
The Umm Suqeim Night Beach Dubai features illuminated waters that means you can enjoy your night-time swimming experiences safely and with peace of mind.
We had an amazing time. Swimming in the warm, crystal clear waters for hours, under the stars. Bliss.
What struck us was there was a melting pot of people hanging out on the beach, couples, family’s, people alone. Everyone just peacefully appreciating this wonderful experience which is made possible by the wonder that is Dubai.
