5 Best Family Hotels in Valencia, Spain – Valencia is in my heart. I lived there for almost two wonderful years. So I know, better than most, just how much this spectacular city has to offer as a travel destination, particularly for those travelling with children. Valencia effortlessly combines beautiful historic architecture and tradition with modern concepts and contemporary structures. You might not expect a city beach to be this vibrant, but Valencia is home to miles of golden sand, a short trip out of the city centre by public transport, or bike. The wide, clean blue-flag beach offers plenty of space to relax, plus there are many other beaches to explore along the Valencian coastline.
Valencia offers more than 300 days of sun a year, with very mild winters and so a dream destination for families as far as the weather I concerned. For my family, travelling to new places means embracing and being inspired by the local cultures. This has to be one of the main reasons to visit Valencia. Valencia is the original home of Spain’s most famous dish, and you might be in for a surprise when you try real paella valenciana at one of the city’s many authentic paella restaurants. It’s not the heap of fluffy yellow rice found elsewhere, and Valencian chefs are strict about the ingredients – for one thing, there’s definitely no chorizo allowed.
