Welcome to our DUKES London One Bedroom Suite Review!

At the beginning of February my mum, and I and a very dear friend of ours treated ourselves to a girlie London trip away. My family are about to move to New Zealand and so a super special treat was in order as a goodbye for now celebration. Our trip started with a delicious stop at Covent Garden for afternoon tea. Then a little later, we would head to one of many beautiful theatres in London to enjoy one of my personal favourite classics-Pretty Woman, which all of us thoroughly enjoyed. Then, after one of the best shows we had ever experienced, was time to head to the hotel.

DUKES London is a Five Star hotel, which enjoys a super location in the elegant streets of St James Mayfair. My Mum and I  travelled from Hastings and were laden with some quite heavy bags, so we were very impressed when the staff took the luggage for us and placed them neatly in our suite. Every member of staff that we came into contact with were a pleasure to meet, each with a friendly and chatty personality. Every one of them bought something special to our experience and made sure that we had a wonderfully relaxed stay, pampering and spoiling us in every possible way.

A wonderful surprise that we received on arrival were fresh treats, such as a bottle of fizz in an ice bucket, a plate of unbelievably delicious macarons and other deliciously crafted mini deserts.

As soon as we walked into the suite bedroom, we were blown away by the size of the bed, which was immaculately made and was accompanied with plenty of pillows and cushions!

Also, next to the bed were plenty of USB ports sat there ready to charge your tech, a modern day essential after a long day – our phone batteries were dying fast! A delightful Dukes cuddly mascot was sat waiting to meet us. What a lovely touch –  miniature cuddly toy version of Duke himself, asking to be adopted by the guests in the room.

The suite has two especially spacious wardrobes, with more than enough hangers to hang your bits and pieces on. Inside the wardrobe you can find two incredibly comfortable gowns and three pairs of warm slippers. Also, you can find a hairdryer, plenty of towels and a personal safe for your valuables.

The bedroom had included a large flatscreen tv with plenty of entertainment choice on it. There was a beautiful window which overlooked the wonderful streets of London, and it is also worth noting that considering Dukes is in the heart of London city, you could hear no unwanted noise, which makes it easy to fall asleep.

The luxurious en suite bathroom includes a spacious bathtub and shower. Plus, guests are invited to use the super selection of Noble Island toiletries which included lotion, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and handwash.

In the separate living room the staff had made up a spare bed. There is also two large comfortable sofas and a writing desk. There are  interesting magazines ready placed on the coffee table along with a beautiful vase of fresh flowers which had a very sweet scent that lingered around the room.

Later that night, we had booked a meal with Dukes’ restaurant, GBR (Great British Restaurant). We were given a beautiful set-menu. The room was on the ground floor, and the wonderful atmosphere gave the room a beautiful feeling.

My mum and her friend chose to start off with a beautiful re-make of the Black Pudding Scotch Egg. I chose the delicious Loch Duart Salmon. For the main course, the other two guests chose the Slow Cooked Cambrian Lamb Neck while I chose the scrumptious Stone Bass. Being pescatarian the menu more than impressed me. Then, lastly, for desert I chose the dark chocolate fondant and the others chose a cheese platter.

Overall, dinner was presented spotlessly and deliciously. The food was very fresh and excellent quality.

Breakfast the nest morning was served in the same room and you can have the choice between a fresh buffet or the hot section on the menu. I chose crushed avocado on sourdough with perfectly poached eggs while our other guest chose a full English breakfast without mushrooms and mum chose the Eggs Benedict.

Check out is at 12.00, so you can relax for a while until its time to leave. Front desk staff happily arranged us a cab which was there for us within moments and the gracious door staff loaded our bags for us.

If you are looking for a luxurious stay in London with impeccable service then Dukes is the place. We hope you enjoyed our Dukes London One Bedroom Suite Review.
